Dissertation Grant

The GDI encourages students of the Graduate School of Public Administration, SNU to conduct research in the fields of international development or developing countries. We welcome topics specifically address questions of poverty reduction and development issues but also topics that more generally address questions of public issues of developing countries. Each year, one Master student and one Ph. D student who are willing to visit the target country and collect field data are selected in April.

Master or Ph. D. students of GSPA who are at pre or post dissertation proposal stage are eligible. Students will be expected to carry out a field study in a topic country during their grant year. 

The GDI research grants provide up to 2,000,000 KRW. It depends on the research topic and the topic country. Students are required to submit travel and data collection proposals.
